RyanVM
Have you actually tested that? My result with that registry entry is that WindowsUpdate still wants to install it.

Acheron
No, I haven't seen the MyDoom removal tool on Dutch Windows Update whatsoever. Anybody else can confirm this?
Shark007
I have never seen the doom removal tool either..that is, until the latest round of MS updates.anyway, upon going to windowsupdate, i see the tool.i dont download it. i instead, create a reg file as suggested in the 1st post here.i install the reg file and i reboot.upon returning to windows update, the tool is no longer offerred.my experience.sharky
RyanVM
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ShellThis key doesn't exist on my system? (XP SP2 NL) That's probably why it isn't showing for Dutch users.I can confirm that the solution keytotime posted works.

cybpsych
ok, did a VM installation above ... still shows the dreaded tool re-edit my regtweak.reg to include this back:[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Shell]*UPDATE* After included the line above, the tool was not detected by WU! No harm done
