Then my windows update will no longer prompt for mydoom removal tool.

Have you actually tested that? My result with that registry entry is that WindowsUpdate still wants to install it.

No, I haven't seen the MyDoom removal tool on Dutch Windows Update whatsoever. Anybody else can confirm this?

I have never seen the doom removal tool either..

that is, until the latest round of MS updates.

anyway, upon going to windowsupdate, i see the tool.

i dont download it. i instead,

create a reg file as suggested in the 1st post here.

i install the reg file and i reboot.

upon returning to windows update, the tool is no longer offerred.

That's probably why it isn't showing for Dutch users.

ok, did a VM installation above ... still shows the dreaded tool

re-edit my regtweak.reg to include this back:

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Shell]

*UPDATE* After included the line above, the tool was not detected by WU! No harm done
