jonnymj Posted December 17, 2004 Posted December 17, 2004 Would appreciate any help on this.the..[unattended]Repartition=Yesline seems to be a bit buggy for me. Without this line in the winnt.sif the unattended install goes fine after I select the partition and formating. With that line included the install seems to go fine until XP sarts up for the first time. XP then proceed to run ChkDsk and goes on saing it is recovering orphaned files and then logs into the administrator account.Again the only difference in the two install results above is the repartistion=yes linehere is my winnt.sif;SetupMgrTag[Data] AutoPartition=1 MsDosInitiated="0" UnattendedInstall="Yes"[unattended] UnattendMode=FullUnattended UnattendSwitch=yes Repartition=Yes OemSkipEula=Yes OemPreinstall=No TargetPath=\WINDOWS[GuiUnattended] AdminPassword=* EncryptedAdminPassword=NO OEMSkipRegional=1 TimeZone=40 OemSkipWelcome=1[userData] ProductID=xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx FullName="User" OrgName="" ComputerName=comp[TapiLocation] CountryCode=1 AreaCode=317[identification] JoinWorkgroup=WORKGROUP[Networking] InstallDefaultComponents=Yes
jonnymj Posted December 17, 2004 Author Posted December 17, 2004 also when check disk start it sarts with linesFile record segment 4076-4079 is unreadable
MHz Posted December 17, 2004 Posted December 17, 2004 Is this in Virtual Machine or real life install?Sounds like file corruption to me.
jonnymj Posted December 17, 2004 Author Posted December 17, 2004 these are real life install.Im using that same XPCD folder for all the installs the only change is the repartion=yes line then I use the CDimage_pro utility from the guides to create the isoIve tried making multiiple disks with the repartition line included and they each have the exact same issue
MHz Posted December 17, 2004 Posted December 17, 2004 How many times without repartition and what is the result of this?
jonnymj Posted December 17, 2004 Author Posted December 17, 2004 ok I made another ISO file using the same XPCD without the repartition line and it had the chk dsk problem.I dont know how some of those files may have gotten corrupted, antivirus hasnt picked anything up, but that seemed to be it. So Im deleting the folder and crating a new XPCD folder and going to copy over the files from the original instal CD, hope that solves it.thanks for your help
bucketbuster Posted December 17, 2004 Posted December 17, 2004 also when check disk start it sarts with linesFile record segment 4076-4079 is unreadableI had similar errormessages a few months ago.Two days later my harddrive crashed and became unusable. My advice:MAKE backups of all your important files.Download a diskchecking program from the manufacturer of your harddrive and run it.In my case I had to use PowerMax by Maxtor, which told me that my harddrive wasalmost dead and it was a good idea to immediately make backups of my files!Which was already to late cause the only program that could access my drive was PowerMax.
jonnymj Posted December 17, 2004 Author Posted December 17, 2004 I went back and ran an instalation disk that worked prior and even that started to have the disk errors after installing. So I tried doing an instatlian with the repartition line and it worked fine. Thanks for all the help
