Hey all! Its my first post! :thumbup

I've gotten a lot of help from this site and this forum so far this is the only thing for which I can't find an answer.

I have an old HP 692C Printer. (Local Parallel Connection) The only printer drivers available are the ones built into XP. When my RunOnceEx starts up the add hardware wizard pops up. It can't specifically identify my printer, only that is is a 690 series....so I have to click on the 692C.

How can I get this thing to NOT popup? I thought maybe I could put the INF files in the winnt.sif But the INF file it uses would still require me to choose the specific model.

If I can't do anything about the driver is it possible to temporarily "turn off" the Add Hardware Wizard? or is that not a good idea?

Please help! :)

@jivetrky

have the same problem with old HP k60, it's best for me

to have printer disconnected at the time to install.

then after a reboot or when I remember, I plug it in

and windows sees it and it installs............

Same prob here with HP Deskjet 712C...

I just leave it unplugged.

I set up printers manually, not unattendedly...

Of course, that could change if someone figures this out.
