McTimson Posted December 7, 2004 Posted December 7, 2004 Hey, I want to install XP on drives that are less than 1.2GB...when I try to, it says it requires a drive of at least 1261MB, or something like that, during partitioning stage of setup. Now, I would like to do an unattended setup, but it seems like doing so would still leave me with that message, even if I were to take stuff out...I haven't tried it yet, but does anyone know if it would? Is that error message hardcoded onto the CD, or does the setup program actually check and see how much data is on the CD and will be needed for the hard drive?Basically, I'm going to be setting up 8 machines, each with small hard drives, that will each run a distributed computing program...so I don't need any extra components or programs or anything, all I have to do is install the app once XP is installed, and I just leave the machine alone.
bucketbuster Posted December 7, 2004 Posted December 7, 2004 Use nLite it has a feature to disable the minimum that XP requires:
McTimson Posted December 7, 2004 Author Posted December 7, 2004 That's just what I needed, thanks! Installing it now, and it just gt past the part that checks the disk space, so it works. Thanks!
