Start, Run, CMD ?

When I do the above in order to ping my router or enter 'ipconfig' I get the response

ping/ipconfig etc "is not recognised as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file"

Can anybody advise me please ?

When I encountered this problem I found an error in My Computer > Properties > Advanced > the option about Environment (The button is named something more but I'm not shure what that button is named in english.. )

Here I checked Path in Systemvariables.. The path value was wrong.. Dunno if you have the same problem, though..

I don't knopw if the path has anything to do with computer type, so I'm not sure.. If u have a similar computer nearby u can compare these.. Other than that, I really don't know.. Sorry!

several ways but easiest i think :

go to system properties

click on advanced

then click on "environment variables"

there change those paths...

also type set in command prompt

thats the thing....I dont know what to put in replace of what is mentioned in 'environment variables', don't generally mess in this area.

go to command prompt at least cmd is working right?

when u get in command type (without quotes) "set >>c:\set.txt"

then go to c drive and open set.txt and copy paste those stuff over here so we can take a look...

hmm the only thing I can think of is the Path line.

u could go to envir variables and edit] PATH and append a ;C:\windows\system32;C:\windows in there

hope that works.. otherwise i dunno
