Incroyable HULK Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 Hello folks,I always get PowerDVD OEM with every new computer we buy. I integrated the software in my unattended Installation but in fact I only need to give Windows Media Player the ability to play DVD movies...So my question is what would be the minimal installation?I took a look at the Unattended Codec pack and saw that CLVSD.ax is copied over to SYSTEM32 and then there is this Registry setting applied:;DVD im WMP[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Player\Settings]"EnableDVDUI"="yes"but is that it? Did I miss something?
GoeniGoeGoe Posted December 17, 2004 Posted December 17, 2004 you have to regsvr32 /s %systemroot%\system32\CLVSD.axthat's all....I think
DigeratiPrime Posted December 18, 2004 Posted December 18, 2004 im actually looking to make it so that PowerDVD only plays just that, DVD's.I prefer to have WMP handle everything else. Is the method for this similiar?
MCT Posted December 18, 2004 Posted December 18, 2004 if u have it how u want it on a working pc, just expot the filetypes via reg, everything should work...dvd.mpg.aviit will have the programs for that filetype in the key info
Astalavista Posted December 18, 2004 Posted December 18, 2004 i did that with a reg tweak.i set winamp to control everything except dvds and divx xvid
DigeratiPrime Posted December 18, 2004 Posted December 18, 2004 ok, but would it be better to use a regtweak Limiting powerdvd OR one adding for wmp?
rendrag Posted December 18, 2004 Posted December 18, 2004 If you limited PowerDVD, but did not tell WMP anything, then you would probably have some files that are unassociated, so I would say use the reg tweaks to add associations to WMP
