dexterdixon Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 Right, I'm not too hot at this whole computer mlarky but I'm learning very fast as I've just had a problem with my raid controller. I'd really appreciate help even if it's just a pointing towards a website where I can learn the basics and maybe teach myself. enough, the problem. My computer recently started having problems talking to usb devices and the network card. I managed to realise that my Raid controller has an "error 10 - device cannot start" in the Device status box. I have the installation disc which I used to reinstall the drivers but that didn't change anything. Is there anything I can try? My hard disc is full of things I really don't want to loose and with this problem I can't transfer anything on or off the computer. Other than this it seems to be running fine.Sorry for the waffle. I am very inexperienced but keen to learn.CheersTom
Bâshrat the Sneaky Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 Maybe you've recently upgraded to SP2 and that causes incompatibility with these drivers? So maybe there are updated drivers around on the net? Just guessing...
RyanVM Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 It might help if you gave us a little bit more information, like what motherboard you're using...I for one am not psychic, anyway.
dexterdixon Posted December 1, 2004 Author Posted December 1, 2004 Sorry, I think the motherboard is a VIA KT400 but that might just be the name of something completely different. Sorry.
RyanVM Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 That's the chipset, not the motherboard. Google the program CPU-Z. It can tell you your motherboard make and model.
