copying files to desktop

when i copy/move several files to desktop they are sorted like this:

I wonder why MS set something like this??? to me i'd consider this as bug!...

I'd position 1 under the other...

the only time i expeience that is if they are already in that formation, and i drag them to the desktop together. if i just to a cut or copy, then paste, they get put on there under each other.

well i copy and paste from "detail view" so they're not in that formation..
