troycicle Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 What's the registry tweak to uncheck Prompt for password when computer resumes from standby? You get to this by right clicking the desktop, properties, screen saver tab, power, then the advanced tab.
Synapse Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 I used a program called RegShot 1.7 (freeware)and it changed the following keys.. but their all in hex so i don't know which key it changed exactly...HKLM\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Session Manager\Power\AcPolicyHKLM\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Session Manager\Power\DcPolicyHKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Power\AcPolicyHKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Power\DcPolicyHKU\S-1-5-21-870225061-1445459439-3086568671-1005\Control Panel\PowerCfg\GlobalPowerPolicy\Policiesnot sure how much this will help ya since the values are in Hex..btw you can download Regshot here if you wanna try and figure this out. just take a shot before the change then make the change and take the second shot then compare...
troycicle Posted December 5, 2004 Author Posted December 5, 2004 I know. I use Reg Shot. That's what I'm confused about!

troycicle Posted December 25, 2004 Author Posted December 25, 2004 This did it![HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\PowerCfg\GlobalPowerPolicy]"Policies"=hex:01,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,03,00,00,00,10,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,03,\ 00,00,00,10,00,00,00,02,00,00,00,03,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,02,00,00,00,03,00,\ 00,00,00,00,00,00,02,00,00,00,01,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,02,00,00,00,01,00,00,\ 00,00,00,00,00,01,00,00,00,03,00,00,00,02,00,00,00,04,00,00,c0,01,00,00,00,\ 04,00,00,00,01,00,00,00,0a,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,03,00,00,00,01,00,01,00,01,\ 00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,02,00,00,00,\ 00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,03,00,00,00,00,\ 00,10,00,00,00The 10 on the last line was a 14. That's all I changed.
maxXPsoft Posted December 25, 2004 Posted December 25, 2004 Well thats exactly what i posted first time you said didn't work. I just didn't add all the hex stuff.[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\PowerCfg\GlobalPowerPolicy]"Policies"=hex:But anyways the other method works also.
troycicle Posted December 27, 2004 Author Posted December 27, 2004 This disables the welcome screen when your computer resumes from the screensaver.[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop]"NoAutoReturnToWelcome"="1""ScreenSaverIsSecure"="0"The previous tweak I posted is for when it resumes from standby.
