Cant Disable System Restore.

HI guys

I have just recently dicovered a problem with my PC, i cant seem to disable system restore. When i try i get the following error:

System Restore encountered an error trying to enable/disable one or more drives. PLease restart your machine and try again.

I restart and still i get this error, also i have checked services.msc and it tells me that system restore isnt started but it is stuck on automatic.

Any help would be appreciated.

Have you tried disabling it directly in the registry?

If not you could use the following, save as SR.inf , right click it and select install, then reboot. the pc.

i have tried using regedit but when i restart and check services.msc its stopped system restore but its still on automatic then i check system properties and that is telling me that system restore is running. One of them is lying and i dont know which one.
