relliott86 Posted November 25, 2004 Posted November 25, 2004 I have a MB which does not have 2.0 USB connection; I installed a USB 2.0 PCI card. It installed without problem, but when I plugged in my 2.0 Flash Drive, I was aked for drivers. It asked for a WIN98 driver, but I'm running WINXP SP2. Any suggestions?
rupert86 Posted November 28, 2004 Posted November 28, 2004 Most probably it is asking for the WinXP SP2 CD. That's b'coz this OS shipped with a generic driver for devices of this sort. I've heard of this type of problem, but personally never seen it.Also, did you install the OS directly from CD or did you do it from a copy of your CD on the HD.The best method is the second. Copy the whole XP or Win98 CD into WinXP/Win98/WinXX folder in your last partition and then install it. That way it directly accesses that folder when Windows needs it. No need to insert CD.
birmingham Posted December 4, 2004 Posted December 4, 2004 You can install the driver from the CD of the usb2.0 Flash Pen.
