Text File on first boot

How would I go about having a text file pop up on the first boot reminding users of certain things to do.

I'm thinking text file because then they can easily delete it later.

make a batch file with the following:

notepad "Path\filename.txt"

I'm sorry I don't fully understand (I'm very new to this)

I understand the batch file part but not what the path would be. Would I have to be specific in the path (EG: notepad "C:\Documents and Settings\User\Desktop\filename).txt") ? and also, where would I place the text file within the install CD. Would it be under the install directory ($OEM$-$1-Install) ?

I would put the batch file in

$OEM$\$Docs\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\ batch file

and add

DEL "%AllUsersProfile%\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\ batch file "

not it will start every time you boot.
