hexa Posted November 21, 2004 Posted November 21, 2004 Does someone have a solution for the XP and 2000 refreshrate problem in the unattended way?Of cource its possible to fix this after the install with Powerstrip, RefreshForce or RefreshLock. But unfortunately it takes some extra pain..
MHz Posted November 21, 2004 Posted November 21, 2004 Don't forget DXDiag as well. You can change the minimum refresh on the last tab of it.
hexa Posted November 21, 2004 Author Posted November 21, 2004 be more specific with a problem...Sorry, the problem only occurs in games. OpenGL games run only at the rate of 60hz and in directX games with good luck at 75hz.
hexa Posted November 21, 2004 Author Posted November 21, 2004 Don't forget DXDiag as well. You can change the minimum refresh on the last tab of it.I think this only works with DirectX games. For example the old HL-engine works better with OpenGL.And is there a way to do the dxdiag trick unattended?
MHz Posted November 21, 2004 Posted November 21, 2004 Your surely not gaming with Microsoft drivers? That would depend on your display driver used. ATI, nVidia or any other that may exist. Here, found just in regedit with regmon.Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\DirectDraw]"ForceRefreshRate"=dword:0000004b That's 75 for refresh.
