mythosaz Posted November 17, 2004 Posted November 17, 2004 I have two final issues to resolve in my unattended install and then RE-sysprep for packaging DVD.How in God's name do I remove Help and SupportMedia Player 10 keeps making Windows Media Player.lnk files on my new desktops.I've checked all the usual suspects and searched my brains out. Any help is to be appreciated.
bledd Posted November 17, 2004 Posted November 17, 2004 del "%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Desktop\Windows Media Player.lnk" /qdel "%USERPROFILE%\Desktop\Windows Media Player.lnk" /q
mythosaz Posted November 17, 2004 Author Posted November 17, 2004 I've found my first problem:http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=21631Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00;Applies to User[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]"NoSMHelp"=dword:00000001For System Wide Use[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]The commonly listed Start_ShowHelp doesn't work on Classic menus. And thanks, but I assure you, there's not an MP link in \default user\desktop
Alanoll Posted November 18, 2004 Posted November 18, 2004 the two lines he gave you didn't concern "default user". It concerened ALL User, and your user (the one currently loaded). Isn't that where the WMP link goes? Or are you refering to one on the StartMenu?
mythosaz Posted November 18, 2004 Author Posted November 18, 2004 No, a new link is created on \Documents and Settings\<user>\Desktop on post-sysprep images with MP10. There is not a corresponding .LNK file in <default>.I suspect this is happening at the same time Theme processing occurs. If you've got a Media Player 10 unattended, SYSPREP -reseal it and see if you get similar results.
