Hi folks,

I have tried to make a BartPE boot disk, but can't get it to boot. Done 4 so far.

When I decompress the d/loaded BartPE, it goes into a folder on my D drive with 13 files and 2 folders, I then click on Bart.exe, it asks for my XP CD and builds a folder on my C Drive, I notice that the folder on D now has three extra files 18 in all, including an iso iimage, like a CD.

Am I right to burn fron the folder on the C Drive? what about the D folder with the iso image? I use Nero to burn an ISO image from the folder on C, but it fails to boot, it runs after I boot into windows.

I get an orange icon on the start in taskbar. My problem is getting it to boot, any ideas where I am going wrong? Using XP professional.

Run pebuilder.exe and follow the GUI wizard it will build the .ISO for you. From there you can use Nero to create your CD.

I did basically the same thing as you and had a working CD in 30 minutes.

Thanks for the response, I will keep trying, I've done exactly that 5 times but the disk just won't boot, maybe one day
