Mea culpa! **** my imprudence :( What must be done to revert the OS to it's original state?

Getting the Windows Activation message: some error preventing WIndows to check the license, error code 0x80070002, and the system goes to log off. So I have no access to desktop.

Check support.microsoft.com and search for the error code. this should help

Don't think NTswitch works with VLK versions. You'll probably need to do a repair install.
