stw_Michael Posted November 9, 2004 Posted November 9, 2004 I just bought a new system and the person that installed XP set it up so that it automatically logs in as default and bypasses the welcome screen. Can some tell me how to reverse this so that when the computer is turned on it goes to the welcome screen.This is probably already answered in this forum, sorry for not looking deeper.Michael

MCT Posted November 9, 2004 Posted November 9, 2004 go into the registry goto HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\Current Version\WinLogonlook 4 the key AutoAdminLogon change it to "0" (zero) & if DefaultUserName has a value & DefaultPassword has a value, u can blank them.. as they wouldnt be of use
