mbressman Posted October 30, 2004 Posted October 30, 2004 In case your interested, the /s switch allows AOL 9.0 SE Optimized to be installed silently...
Frank_Sechrist Posted November 26, 2004 Posted November 26, 2004 I've been using the /S switch for quite some time, but it no longer works with the newest AOL 9 'Security' edition.I really dislike the AOL software, and the newest edition is far worse than those before it, but, family and friends use it, so I have it in my unattended install collection. Ugh!
1chaoticadult Posted November 28, 2004 Posted November 28, 2004 People still use this sorry excuse for an application. Geez, I wish people would wake up and use something better. I would even use MSN Explorer over this.
DigeratiPrime Posted November 28, 2004 Posted November 28, 2004 yeah i also know too many people still using AOL. You wouldnt believe the people that pay for broadband from the ISP, and pay for AOL for Broadband, its one of the stupidest things I will ever see. The are a number of things I try to convince people with AOL not to install/use it, but this seems to be the most important:** The main thing that keeps people on AOL is the email, there are alternative ways to get your aol email, the best is IMO by using IMAP in Outlook. All your mail in one place, no need to install AOL.
1chaoticadult Posted November 28, 2004 Posted November 28, 2004 (edited) @DigeratiPrimeI agree with you wholeheartedly. I also try to convince people not to use AOL. The most crashes and freeze ups I ever had on my computer is when I had AOL. Isn't that a shock!!! Edited November 28, 2004 by drthawhizkid
