eg: mm_fl_sw_installer.exe /s

just worked fine for me. it just asked me to close my browsers but other than that it was silent.

I tried mm_fl_sw_installer.msi /qn and it seems to work fine

@ lipswarez I think you are using an older version.... try downloading new one... I still get the question for language... and seems I'm not the only one...

is there a way to configure the MSI to install for Firefox? I don't even care if it isn't installed for IE.

EDIT: I just extracted the file with Winrar:

Now to install Shockwave silent, use this:

SHOCKWAVE_INSTALLER_FULL_ASDC.EXE /S

it works! it does start up your internet browser (when used in RunOnceEx IE will still be default browser so IE will start up) but you can use taskkill to close ie automatically.

for Flash:

SILENT INSTALL FLASH PLAYER 7.EXE /S

also seems to work!

this works, also installed for FF, you can delete all other files since they are not needed (I think).

I saw you using:

REG ADD %KEY%\007 /V 2 /D "TASKKILL /F /IM iexplore.exe" /f

I use this also but without /F

I only use /IM

What is the difference?

Go to the command prompt, type cmd + enter

type TASKKILL /? + enter to find out...

i noticed that on my one PC when i ran the .exe with the /s switch it installed silent but on another PC it asked for language. i also realised that on the 1st PC (the 1 that didnt ask for lang) i only had the default language (UK English) installed (in language bar) and the second PC i had the default and another (SA English) So maybe that was causing it to ask what language to install. dunno if this has happened with any1 else. but I just use the msi to silent install now with the /qn switch

I modified my previous post to include my working solution:

mm_fl_sw_installer.msi /qn

Tested under Windows 2000 SP4 IE6

will offer you the installers for both IE and NON-IE browsers, BEWARE though that the shockwave one will install Yahoo! Toolbar when done silently using the /s switch.

will silently un-install the yahoo toolbar

If you have shockwave still installed, just sfx the files np32dsw.dll & ShockwavePlugin.class and thats all you need if you have and use Netscape, Firefox or Mozilla browsers.

Just make sure the sfx extracts the files to "%ProgramFiles%\Mozilla Firefox\plugins\" if you use Firefox, or the similar path if you use SeaMonkey (formerly the Mozilla Suite). The browser will automatically recognize it.

no installation required: Faster and uses less space on your CD/DVD.

Same method for Flash btw.

I don't know about IE.
