nuhi Posted October 24, 2004 Posted October 24, 2004 For those who haven't seen the info it seems that XP Release 2 will be after all.More info here.Notice the part: "The CEO of the Microsoft Monopoly, Steve Ballmer, said at the Symposium that Longhorn was a 'wave' of technologies, rather than a single product."
nuhi Posted October 25, 2004 Author Posted October 25, 2004 I just saw that the news was all over the place so if you think that this post was not needed it's ok...but that info about Longhorn being almost just a collection of new technologies really supprised me.I think they just come up with the excuse of not be able to finish it on time.
redder Posted October 25, 2004 Posted October 25, 2004 A new version of Windws XP, that seems a bit desperate from Microsoft, just like seeing them selling a bundle of XP and Office2003 for 50USD in Asia. I don't think Longhorn will be such a benefit to the OS world, from all the reviews I've read, it seems "overweight", it appears to consume as much memory and processor resources as a recent 3D game, so instead of making an OS with better performance, we make one full of iCandy... nice job
