Lost XP Pro during Restore...

Hi, new around here and I'm hoping you good folks can help me out, if you don't mind.

During a restore I was performing on my system, I got locked up after restore completed, but never came back up when the system automatically began to restart. :( I don't have a recovery disc and attempted one from my neighbors system which was not compatable due to different model numbers but same computer, Compaq Presario. All that comes up during initial start is the COMPAQ logo and Windows XP Pro start up window, everything locks up after that.

I'm assuming all has crashed, so I want to due a full installation of Windows XP, either, Home or Pro.

Without spending hours looking thru files, can you tell me if there is a full installation file available here for download? Also, where I might look for it here.

Sorry to sound pathetic begging, but I using my computer at work to ask questions since mine is down at home, and I can't spend too much time with away from my job without eyes wondering around.

Hope you guys can help me out here, I'm in desperado mode and my kids are impatient at home to get my computer going again. Honestly, I think they're making a plan of attack if I don't get it back together soon......

Thanks,

emvee

Your compaq should come with a set of restore discs or a windows install cd. If you don't have them, perhaps compaq could send you a set for your specific model...

I get ya MCT, thanks.

Crahak,

My system started out with Windows 98SE, but later upgraded to XP Pro awhile back. So I don't have a recovery disc and the upgrade done by another, is no longer available.

Anyways, thanks, I'll figure some else out.

;)
