WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. government has sued a New Hampshire man in its first attempt to crack down on Internet "spyware" that seizes control of a user's computer without permission.

The U.S. Federal Trade Commission on Thursday asked a federal court to shut down an operation that it said disables users' computers in an attempt to bully them into buying anti-spyware products.

It's about time.

LOL it is about time...

Every time I clean up a computer, I just want to ring the SOB's neck

that stuff just f's-up a computer big time...

On my personnel compters I run the real working blockers and detectors...

and I DON"T GET hit up by known crap and even at that I have stuff set to NOT load the crap...

Most people hate my setup and they whine like a stuffed pig after they use it....

So they shut the blockers down so now they get it again ...

or they say it is to much trouble to update.. LOL it takes 5 mins even on dial up..

when they do get infected again and again I just laugh at them to there face... They hate that... I had already explained to them why... over and over and over

Some of them want the free stuff and you know how that crap is...

I laugh at them for getting that stuff cause there is enough warez stuff on the internet to get the better pay for stuff free ........

I use a varity of stuff to keep the crap locked out..

IESPY list

POPupCop

adshield with a adserver block list...

SpywareBlaster

IE turn off enable install on demand,,,,,,

and I use ad-aware, pestpatrol corp. tuscan to check for files and keys

The big thing is not to f with known sites that are on the restricted list and that is where they want to go... And I don't mean porn .. there are many sites that are not porn that scam you now...

And another area is to block those ad popups.. even block the sites from even loading a picture on your computer,,, the bloody ads are full of scam software,,, that tries to load on your computer,,
