Add a modem connectoid during unattended install

Recommended Posts

I need to add a modem dialer connectoid during the unattended install of Win2K. The kind of connection you would create by going into Network and Dial-up Connections, clicking on Make New Connection, and choosing Dial-up to the Internet.

How would I script that?

Thanks

That will work great except for the fact that the modem isn't the same on every box. I think I can use win32_potsmodem to find the installed modem name and plug it into the rasphone.pbk after it gets copied over.

I think I can open the rasphone.pbk and search and replace these lines with the modem name:

preferreddevice =

device =

Thanks for the info

in my case, with windows xp, the file was copied read-only, and didn't show the connections in "My Network Places" properties, where usualy i can see the connections in groups (broadband, dial-up, etc).
