shaokahn
hi,I use WinXP SP2 and i have 2 computers, one has the modem and connects to the internet and the other one connects to the internet via Internet Connection Sharing.I am trying to open to ports TCP 4662 and UDP 4672 on the first computer, to use Emule on the second computer. To do that i go to firewall configuration on the control panel then i click advanced tab then defenitions button and finally the add button. (please see the attachment)before sp2 this was working. now even if i turn off firewall i still get low ID. And i mean turning both computers windows sp2 firewall to off.BTW, computer with the modem is pcruben, computer using ICS pccatia.tks for help

aresgodofwar
hmm let me take a stab here. you need to first configure the ics computer to be able to use emule. once that works. then just open the ports necessary for network between the two computers. i could be way off, but i'd try that first. shaokahn
no way dude, the ics is properly configured and fully working. the problem is low id issue. prior to SP2 i would add 2 ports, 1 UDP and another TCP to windows firewall and problem solved, now with SP2 this is not working, not even with firewall off.i've read somewhere that this is a SP2 "problem" because MS want it to be so safe that it's only possible to have 10 max tcp connectuions, to avoid worm spread. can anyone help me with this? aresgodofwar
well i have no idea when you are talking about a "low id"i do know that there is a reg hack to get rid of that 10 connection limit. i think this is it:[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings]"MaxConnectionsPerServer"=dword:00000040"MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server"=dword:00000040
shaokahn
lol, that's not it dude. that's for IE, not for XP TCP connections:pi've found a fix for tcp limit of 10 connections and i unlocked it completly to 16777214 simultaneous connections. but port 4662 is still unreachable.but only to the client computer, on this one it works great.HELP
