crashking Posted September 30, 2004 Posted September 30, 2004 ok here we go . I tried to make a winxp pro iso or cd ....whatever with xpcreate.everything seems cool untill it starts the slipstream then update exe "encounters an error and will be closed" . Do you have to be running winxp to make an xp cd with xpcreate?
homiebrah Posted September 30, 2004 Posted September 30, 2004 If you're referring to the service pack, and running Windows 2000, it will not work. You must slip the SP on a system running XP.
GreenMachine Posted September 30, 2004 Posted September 30, 2004 Thanks for sharing that, homiebrah. Never tried ... It does work from Windows 2003.
Richard Berg Posted October 1, 2004 Posted October 1, 2004 GreenMachine: if you have your script rename .\i386\update\setupapi.dll when extracting to the SP's temp directory, that should allow it to work on Win2k machines.
homiebrah Posted October 2, 2004 Posted October 2, 2004 It works when slipping it outside of XPCREATE. Thenks for that info, RB.
GreenMachine Posted October 3, 2004 Posted October 3, 2004 Welcome to MSFN, Richard Berg! Thanks for that info, Richard Berg & homiebrah. I have to think about adding that ...
