Is it possible to disable simple file sharing on windows xp home?

Open an explorer window. Go to tools -> folder options -> view -> scroll down the advanced settings and uncheck the use simple file sharing box.

That only works in XP Pro. XP Home has no option to disable simple file sharing. Most home users wouldn't have a need for advanced file permisions through the network, so they do not get that option.

Either put that in a reg file or just change the value using regedit from 1 to 0.
