Hi everyone,

That's the first time I post 'cause that's the first time I can't find a solution in this excellent forum !

I want to integrate custom icons in my unnatend XP.

First I want use IconPackager but I think it can't silently install a package.

I Know that I can modify some dlls like Shell32.dll but It's not easy and I don't want to lose the original XP Icons.

The theme I want to use is the excellent Pastel theme by Marvilla.

Is there an easy solution ?

well there is always a posibility of manually entering the settings into registry...

use some regsnap util, and copy the resource files where needed...

its easy enough :P

go back 2 original xp icons, download & install regsnap, take a snapshot, make changes & install new icons using IconPAckager & take another snapshot, compare them & save the reg file, put all icons in $OEM$\$$\Resources\Icons

modify the reg file 4 that path

I tried yesterday and there's a problem : I can't change Folders default icon. The folders created on the desktop are customized, but all the others keep the yellow XP icon. :(

I don't understand how to change this icon. IconPackager doesn't seem to change any registry key for this...

Why not edit the resources in the DLL that contains the folder icon?

Use "Resource Hacker" (google to get a link to download).

Then put the edited DLL directly in the I386 folder. No sweat!

Yes, I think I'll do that for all the icons... but it's a hard and long work...
