N1K
Did you do something before that happened (installation of some software or drivers)?

Jito463
i am not very happy with windows XP either. How does that help?@drip_lizardHave you checked to see if you have any viruses? Open Task Manager and look for any suspicious processes or run a virus scan if you can. Maybe check your RAM for problems. www.memtest.org is your friend If that passes, download the trial of Ontrack Data Advisor (or buy it, it's only $20) and scan your HDD for errors. Barring that, I'd suggest a full format/reload of the system as something has obviously corrupted Windows.
drip_lizard
the only thing i did was install NAV2005. I ran hackthis and the ultimate troubleshooter on it. and came up with nothing. I also ran ad-aware pro and spysweeper. I also ran acronis privacy expert and advanced registry optimizer. And never came up with anything. So I used drive scrubber and formatted my drive to department of defense standards and then re-installed windows with my disk i slipstreamed sp2 into. Which I learned how to do here, and everything is working great now.
