troycicle Posted September 18, 2004 Posted September 18, 2004 Before the Windows Welcome configuration, there's a short clip that says Microsoft Windows XP. For some reason, my unattended cd shows that then skips the welcome xp configuration. I want it to skip the configuration, but I hate seeing that clip. Is there a way I can change or just skip the clip?
dekaranger Posted September 18, 2004 Posted September 18, 2004 Are you talking about the wavy flag that turns into the Microsoft Windows logo?
RyanVM Posted September 18, 2004 Posted September 18, 2004 Replace SYSSETUP.DL_ in the i386 directory of your install CD with this one (assuming your CD has SP2 integrated):http://www.ryanvm.net/msfn/SYSSETUP.DL_
--=ddSHADOW=-- Posted September 18, 2004 Posted September 18, 2004 so with this can you disable the starting Windows XP WELCOME msg ???
prathapml Posted September 18, 2004 Posted September 18, 2004 Somebody had said that putting the below in your winnt.sif file will disable the clip you're seeing, try it to see if it works...[Unattended] FactoryMode=yes
troycicle Posted September 18, 2004 Author Posted September 18, 2004 Cool, thanks guys. Yes I'm talking about the wavy flag that turns into Windows XP.
troycicle Posted September 19, 2004 Author Posted September 19, 2004 That worked prathapml, thanks! I was wondering, is there anyway I can put my own remove the Windows XP clip, and put my own in. If there's not, I'll just use your method to skip it.
buletov Posted September 19, 2004 Posted September 19, 2004 and make sure it is in WMV7 video format...
prathapml Posted September 19, 2004 Posted September 19, 2004 What resolution should it be?And are you sure only WMV7 format is accepted? 'Cos with WMV9 codecs integrated into SP2, it should be able to play v9?
buletov Posted September 19, 2004 Posted September 19, 2004 resolution is 640x480 but i'm not sure whether it is limited to that resolution.i tried with v9 wmv, it didn't work, converted it to a wmv7 and it worked.
