XtremeMaC Posted September 13, 2004 Posted September 13, 2004 Hi theremy mom is working on a file and she usually saves it to her usb memory to take it to her office.now she wants to create a local copy of the file as well whenever she saves the file to the usb memory she wants it to be saved to hdd as well, and the vice versa can this be done via word or any external utilities??thanks
mazin Posted September 13, 2004 Posted September 13, 2004 Under: Tools --> Options --> SaveYou'll find the check box "Make local copy of files stored on network or removable drives".Make local copy of files stored on network or removable drives.Temporarily stores a local copy of a file that you store on a network or removable drive. When you save the local copy, Word saves your changes to the original copy. If the original file is not available, Word prompts you to save the file in another location to avoid data loss.I hope it works for you as expected.
XtremeMaC Posted September 13, 2004 Author Posted September 13, 2004 does this also exist in office 2000? cause I'm aware that this exist on xp and 2003, office 10,11...I'll check it but if u know that it doesn't exist I'll go nuts thanks
prathapml Posted September 13, 2004 Posted September 13, 2004 Yes, as suggested above, use the brief-case, and set it to auto-synchronize every few <so-many-minutes/hours/days>.
