1boredguy
hi,i'm using Virtual PC 2004 (trial), and want to test fully unattended installation disks. i want to limit the amount of HD space that is made available within my Virtual PC "hard drive". right now it seems to make the whole amount of free space, available for the "virtual computer". so... when Windows installation starts, i want it so Virtual PC only gives 3 gigs of space available for the installation... not my whole HD space. i want this done through Virtual PC, because i have autopartition and repartitioning on (1/yes).hope this kinda makes sense, of what i want.....thanks for any help! DigitalAZ
..> Open Virtual PC Console (Do Not Load any VHD's)..> Select your Virtual PC in the console and choose settings...> Select Harddisk of choice..> Select Virtual Disk Wizard..> Select Next..> Select Edit an existing virtual disk..> Select Virtual Disk to Edit..> Select Next..> Select Compact It..> Selelct Replacing the current file..> Select Next..> Select FinishThe above compacts your virtual disk to the size of actual data on the virtual drive. The way I get specific sizes is to copy a file or files that equate to the size I want to the virtual disk, compact and delete extra files. Kinda cheesy but it works
