midiboy Posted September 5, 2004 Posted September 5, 2004 Hi everyone !I have had very strange problems lately with my unattended Windows installation and after tearing my hair out for days now, I found the cause: the patched termsrv.dl_ I downloaded from this threadMy problems with this hacked version:Emule would always report a lowID and have connection problemsdownloads would break up randomlySome IE registry tweaks would not work anymore ( show IE on desktop, start menu etc.)I replaced the hacked dll with the original one and all those problems disappeared. This may be because I use a German Windows version but I still though I might warn you ... Bye,Alex
CoffeeFiend Posted September 5, 2004 Posted September 5, 2004 Most of us have been using that DLL for a while with no adverse aspects, perhaps your troubles are coming from some other tweak interacting or soemthing, as terminal services don't have anything to do with most of these thigns you're reporting...
big_gie Posted September 5, 2004 Posted September 5, 2004 I'm using the french xp version with that file and they are the same. I don't have any problem with emule...
midiboy Posted September 5, 2004 Author Posted September 5, 2004 Hi !I know that some of you use that dll for weeks now ... I don´t know why those problems happened on my system but I tried more than 5 unattended installations using this dll and all of them had the above problems. As soon as I switched to the original dll, they went away ... what can I say ... for me that´s proof enough ---
CoffeeFiend Posted September 5, 2004 Posted September 5, 2004 And that the fact that nobody else isn't having any issues with it whatsoever is not enough of a proof? ... I could see that being caused by a bad patch of tcpip.sys, but I can't even see how terminal services can even break that stuff... Doesn't seem related even one bit.
