When I start a single user game I see the loading bar,but when it reaches 100% the game exitswithout giving any messages. I tried all video options from ultra to low (in game system settings) and observed the same behavior. My system config is:Athlon XP2800512M memory250G ATA133 HDATI 9800Pro 128MLite-on 8x dual-layer DVD/40X CDROMSony GDM-F520 21" monitorAny ideas :-( I'm a newbie to DOOM really wanna play!
SiMoNsAyS Posted August 30, 2004 Posted August 30, 2004 reinstall the game, if that don't work: reinstall graphic drivers (latest catalyst 4.9 beta were released to solve problems with d3) and directx9c
iceberg Posted September 1, 2004 Author Posted September 1, 2004 Re-installing didn't help. I downloaded the latest nVidia drivers, removed the ATI adaptor drivers, downloaded the latest driversfrom ATI and reinstalled. Works properly now. All hardware was just purchased and the driverssupplied were out of date. Here are links to the drivers:Download and install the latest drivers for your Nforce2 motherboard chipset fromhttp://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.aspBe sure to follow the below driver installation hints.http://www.nvidia.com/object/driver_installation_hints.htmlDownload updated video drivers from the ATI website:http://www.ati.com/support/driver.htmlGo to Add/Remove Programs in the the Control Panel, and uninstall your current ATI video drivers. Reboot your computer after uninstallation.BEFORE attempting to install the updated drivers, obtain both of the ATI Maintenance Utilities and run them. This will ensure that all tracesof previous ATI video drivers are removed.http://www.ati.com/support/drivers/misc/catalystutils.htmlAfter running the above utilities, reboot your computer. Install the updated video drivers once your computer is finished rebooting.
