MAVERICKS CHOICE Posted August 28, 2004 Posted August 28, 2004 I have Pub 2002 & looking to install silently, checked guides & googled have not been able to locate this just curious if at all possible?
mazin Posted August 31, 2004 Posted August 31, 2004 So, you have got Publisher 2002 as a separate application?
MAVERICKS CHOICE Posted August 31, 2004 Author Posted August 31, 2004 Thats right not part of office xp
mazin Posted August 31, 2004 Posted August 31, 2004 Do you have a file named setup.ini? I think you should have it on your CD.
MAVERICKS CHOICE Posted August 31, 2004 Author Posted August 31, 2004 Yes its located in the setup dir it mentions a mst file looks similar to the office admin install is that correct?
mazin Posted August 31, 2004 Posted August 31, 2004 Unless you need to slipstream patches (MSPs), you don't need to do admin install. But, you can customize your installation using setup.ini along with setup.exe.
MAVERICKS CHOICE Posted August 31, 2004 Author Posted August 31, 2004 I only have the msi installer package?
mazin Posted August 31, 2004 Posted August 31, 2004 Well! Then, there's one attempt. I suggest you run the MSI like this:publisher.msi /QB PIDKEY=xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxxHope it works.
MAVERICKS CHOICE Posted August 31, 2004 Author Posted August 31, 2004 Just slipstreamed sp3 into publisher but just wandering how to incorporate the serial no like office? Now I have setup.exe in the Publisher dir.
prathapml Posted August 31, 2004 Posted August 31, 2004 The procedure is all the same as for office. Look here at the MSFN unattended guide for detailed, step-by-step instructions - http://unattended.msfn.org/xp/officexp.htm.
mazin Posted August 31, 2004 Posted August 31, 2004 Just slipstreamed sp3 into publisher but just wandering how to incorporate the serial no like office? Now I have setup.exe in the Publisher dir.If you slipstreamed patches, then you've done AIP. So, you can't use setup.ini. Instead, you use the MST you've created, supposedly.
MAVERICKS CHOICE Posted August 31, 2004 Author Posted August 31, 2004 Yeah sorry it saved to C:Publisher I was looking in the orig dir where I slipstreamed it. Working fine now.Anyway would this be fine to install unattended:ECHO.ECHO Installing Microsoft Publisher XP SP2start /wait %systemdrive%\install\Applications\pubxp\setup.exe /q
prathapml Posted August 31, 2004 Posted August 31, 2004 I believe the guide clearly states that this is the switch to use, it is:/qb-
