SP2 for IE -- ever a standalone product?

I was wondering -- are there plans to release a SP2 just for IE (for people on non-XP platforms)? That has always been the case in the past.

Microsoft said awhile ago that they weren't planning to release any future standalone versions of IE, though there's talk that that tune might be changing with IE7 (coming with Longhorn).

In other words, don't hold your breath.
