Cant see secondary hard disk

im trying to install a new hard disk and the weird thing is that it is not listed in My Computer. There is no driver letter there for the new hard disk. but when i access the device manager, the device is listed there. what the hell is the problem with this? please help me.

the hard disk has been freshly reformatted (NTFS).

Have you tried Disk Management under Computer Management?

Right click My Computer>Manage>Disk Mangament>Right click disk, Instalize and then format

also, try your harddisk manufacturer, they may have a patch or something
