AC3 Filter prob in Control Panel

Hi all

When i go to Control Panel, i see there is an AC3 Filter icon. I don't where is that came from. When i click on the icon, i get this message:

An exception occured while typing to run
"C:\WINDOWS\System32\Shell32.dll, Control_RunDLL
"C:\WINDOWS\System32\ac3filter.CPL", AC3 Filter"

I never installed AC3 Filter so i don't know why it is on control panel.

It might came with any program when i installed that.

I want to remove AC3 Filter and also would like to know which software it came with so that it doesn't happen again.


The AC3 filter comes with most of the codec packs like the K-Lite Codec pack. Did you install any of those and then removed it again? Or cleaned house in the Program Files directory?

Do a fresh install, then deinstall. I would recommend leaving it installed however, I need it from time to time.
