I've got some desktop.ini files inside the $OEM$ folder, these are copied directly from the files created by XP when you change the file icon, however they don't work on my installation from the CD. even though the file is copied and the icon exists the directory doesn't have the icon

Any ideas?

As far as I know, this idea doesn't work on CDs.
