Yoda_Oz Posted August 21, 2004 Posted August 21, 2004 ok heres my setup...SETUP 1:DIAGRAM:modem/router--------------------->winxp1------------------------>winxp2.......................................................................................(with emule)(correct ports forwarded)........(network bridge)....................192.168.100.3192.168.100.1.........................192.168.100.2my modem/router is connected to my winxp box 1 via an ethernet adaptor. winxp1 has a network bridge between that ethernet adapter and a wireless adaptor. winxp box 2 connects to that bridge via 192.168.100.1. winxp1's ip is 192.168.100.2, and winxp2's ip is 192.168.100.3. the modem/router forwards the proper ports to 192.168.100.3. dhcp is turned off on the modem/router.*when emule is not running internet connection is fine. i can browse the web, send and receive ftp etc.*when emule is running (connected or disconnected) i cannot use the internet at all. emule connects to servers with highID but it cannot download or upload.*as soon as i exit emule my internet connection works again.SETUP 2:same setup as 1 but IPs are set with DHCP and internet connection sharing (ICS) - and its irrelavent whether or not ports are forwarded or not due to the fact that ics is more than 1 network on 1 gateway where as a network bridge bridges 2 different networks into 1, hence the high ID connection...*everything works but connected to emule with lowID (obviously because of DHCP)SETUP 3:DIAGRAM:modem/router------------------->winxp2192.168.100.1...................192.168.100.3 (static)correct ports forwarded..........(with emule)here, i have my modem/router connected directly to my winxp box 2. everything works the way I want it. emule connects with a highID AND im able to browse the internet AND i am able to upload and download at full capacity.SO:whats going on? any suggestions? is it emule or is it my setup?
gamehead200 Posted August 21, 2004 Posted August 21, 2004 Question, do you have Service Pack 2 installed?
Yoda_Oz Posted August 21, 2004 Author Posted August 21, 2004 yeah, ive got the sp2 on the winxp box 2, and service pack 1 on the winxp box 1. ive got auto updates set to on on both computers. winxp box 2 has the beta version of sp2 though.
enuffsaid Posted August 21, 2004 Posted August 21, 2004 Try this fix: "Programs that connect to IP addresses that are in the loopback address range may not work as you expect in Windows XP Service Pack 2"
