xp sp2 crashing... video or sound related i think

specs: dell 400sc 2.26ghz, 256x2 crucial pc2100 seagate 120+200.

After I installed sp2 I began getting crashes and I think it's related to video or audio because the last two times I've been playing anime on media player classic and the screen goes blank (doesn't restart, even though I have my system setup to automatically restart on a system crash) and the sound just keeps repeating... if that makes any sense at all. I never had this problem before.

Could it be that sp2 overwrote old drivers and there is now some incompatibility?

help?

what if it's a nforce2 based chipset

now seriously, if it's a nforce2 chipset probably it has been released a new version, try installing updated drivers.
