GreenMachine Posted August 12, 2004 Posted August 12, 2004 Finally, I'm in the process of making some bug fixes. Specifically, the following:Setting XPSOURCE in XPCREATE.INI causes Boot image extraction / "Cannot find Boot Image" error.Source Language not correctly determined.FILESCD directory cannot be used accross different XPCREATE directories. (FILESCD hardcoded.)"This folder may safely be deleted.txt" in file IE6 causes errors in non-English versions.User cannot add RAIDDRIVER.OEM files manually.Raid drivers with multiple .SYS files not handled. No SVCPACK directory created if there is nothing to add to it.If you can remember other errors that I said I would be looking into for the next version, AND CAN POINT ME TO THE THREAD IN WHICH I SAID IT, please post a link to that post in this thread.I am NOT interested in other "bugs", or feature/functionality requests, so please. please, please don't post any of that. Just bugs that have already been pointed out, and that I said I would be fixing.EDIT:: This post updated as developement progresses.
ReSiVe Posted August 13, 2004 Posted August 13, 2004 Find one other pointed out 'error', namely: I will fix the "no svcpack directory" error in the next release. in thread http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=23954Succes!
mmarable Posted August 13, 2004 Posted August 13, 2004 Changing the hardcoded FILESCD would be great. I use the same FILESCD with different XPCreate installs (SP1, SP2, Win2003, etc) and hate shuffling it around between them.
Wraith Posted August 13, 2004 Posted August 13, 2004 Changing the hardcoded FILESCD would be great. I use the same FILESCD with different XPCreate installs (SP1, SP2, Win2003, etc) and hate shuffling it around between them.Possibly a FILESXPP, where XPP is the identifier string? That could be kind of useful. (I probably wouldn't use it though.)----------As I had asked GM in a previous PM, another folder with blank files for it to remove from the final ISO.So a blank UXTHEME.DL_ in this directory would remove it from the final.Sorry about the request, GM, I couldn't help myself
GreenMachine Posted August 15, 2004 Author Posted August 15, 2004 @ReSiVe: Thanks! Done.@mmarable: You didn't read the question ...... That could be kind of useful. (I probably wouldn't use it though.) ...@Wraith. Oh, never mind ...EDIT:: Top post updated.
GreenMachine Posted August 15, 2004 Author Posted August 15, 2004 I knew I got get a laugh outta ya! Because it's you ... I'll think about it.
Bilou_Gateux Posted August 24, 2004 Posted August 24, 2004 2KCREATEWith the help of shareef59, we have tested XPCREATE under different scenarios, and it seems to be working for Windows 2000. Everything is installed correctly from SVCPACK except the JScript 5.6 update. This update seems to want to be installed after reboot. The code works fine as is, with the one exception that the hotfix files in the UNIPROC directory are not handled. I believe this is for multi-processor systems, but I will be correcting it in the next release.Using XPCREATE with Windows 2000 Gold + Service Pack 4, one hotfix type 1 (835732) updates files that are located in I386\UNIPROC.After creation of the slipstreamed 2K CD, i have found duplicate files in the CDROOT\I386\UNIPROC folder.KERNEL32.DLL 5.0.2195.6897KERNEL32.DL_WIN32K.SYS 5.0.2195.6897WIN32K.SY_WINSRV.DLL 5.0.2195.6826WINSRV.DL_The non compressed version are from the HF 835732the compressed version are from SP4These lines are added to DOSNET.INF[ForceCopyDriverCabFiles]kernel32.dllntdll.dllwin32k.syswinsrv.dll[Files]d1,UNIPROC\kernel32.dll d1,UNIPROC\ntdll.dll d1,UNIPROC\win32k.sys d1,UNIPROC\winsrv.dllIn the original dosnet.inf from the CD, files located in UNIPROC subfolder are not listed.I would like my source Cd to be as clean as possible to use nLite to reduce the size of source after XPCreate.PS : The code works fine as is with SP4 slipstream but with SP3 + HF type 1 only slipstreaming instead, i've got a BSOD during install with the file winsrv.dll not found. The problem is related to the reference to this file in dosnet.inf
zehninguem Posted August 24, 2004 Posted August 24, 2004 Same FILECD will be great but I'm just thinking how to deal with different WINNT.SIF for XP and 2003 if we use the same FILECD folder.Cheers

This is a bug that I haven't even implemented yet! Please, all, I was just looking for a little help with my memory. I think we have it covered, so I'm closing this one till I get back to my lab.
