Stuntgp2000 Posted August 11, 2004 Posted August 11, 2004 Hello everyone, when i install windows xp with all msupdates sometmes I get a message that tells me that i dont have enough virtual memory and that some programs may not work properly. This problem occurs when i try to install windows xp on Computer that have only 128 Mo of Ram but when i install it on a computer that have 386Mo of ram this problem does not appear. When i made looked here and there i suspected that MSI programs may lead to this problem since MSIEXEC.exe stay on memory. so does anyone has an idea ?
Stuntgp2000 Posted August 11, 2004 Author Posted August 11, 2004 thanks, but i do not use VMware nor VirtualPC, i tried to install it normaly.however i think the solution is to put PSKiller after each line

smartwayz Posted August 11, 2004 Posted August 11, 2004 The system will use 128Mb - just for running all services. You could try moving the paging fileAlternatively, buy some more memory - memory is cheap these days.Forget programs that state to increase memory - all they do is use your HDD to dump data to - resulting in slowing your machine down more since the hard drive is trying to read/write data and act as a memory module at the same time - NOT GOOD!There is no easy solution to your problem - put simply - install more memory!Pete
Stuntgp2000 Posted August 11, 2004 Author Posted August 11, 2004 thanks for everyone, first of all the problem is on me because i have not made thing clear.first this problem occured 3 times exactl at T-12 and more precisely before MS Virtual machine update starts.a message appears telling may that i don't have enough memory and that some programms may not work properly.in the 1st & 2nd time nothing went wrong but the 3rd time i installed windows neither Windows Messenger 4.7 update nor Windows Messenger 5.0 where installedby the way i cant understand why WIndows messenger 5.0 won't install if Windows Messenger 4.7 is not installed.thanks in advance for everyone.
