  1. [iEPopupBlocker] Invalid Error : FIXED I had the same problem but I changed the prefix and it worked! Where you specify [IEPopupBlocker] AllowedSites = www.msfn.com; hotmail.com; cnn.com; www.yahoo.com the host names need to have the correct prefix. This should be HTTP or HTTPS The corrected syntax would look like this: [IEPopupBlocker] AllowedSites=http://www.msfn.com;http://hotmail.com;http://cnn.com;http://www.yahoo.com I am assuming a wild card '*' could be used - but have not tested. If someone were to try [IEPopupBlocker] AllowedSites=http://*.msfn.com;http://*.hotmail.com;http://*.cnn.com;http://*.yahoo.com then please reply and let us know. It shouldn't really need to be if you are allowing a domain - all sub-domains should permitted too. Hope this helps Pete
  2. The [FavoritesEx] section contains the default Favorites settings for the Windows browser. If not present, Setup uses the default for Microsoft® Windows®. IMPORTANT NOTE To make sure your [FavoritesEx] settings take effect, include the [branding] section header and the BrandIEUsingUnattended entry in the answer file to enable the browser-related settings: Example [Branding] BrandIEUsingUnattended = Yes Peter
  3. This may help you. This part is a sample of my WINNT.SIF which changes all my regional settings to English - Australia. It also correctly specifies my timezone to 255 A.U.S. Eastern Standard Time (GMT+10:00) Canberra, Melbourne, Sydney [RegionalSettings] LanguageGroup=1 UserLocale=00000c09 InputLocale=0c09:00000409 InputLocale_DefaultUser=0c09:00000409 SystemLocale=0c09 UserLocale=0c09 UserLocale_DefaultUser=0c09 My Timezone is 255 A.U.S. Eastern Standard Time (GMT+10:00) Canberra, Melbourne, Sydney This is a sample of my settings of the Gui Unattended Section. [GuiUnattended] AdminPassword="" EncryptedAdminPassword=NO OEMSkipRegional=1 TimeZone=255 OemSkipWelcome=1 First of all, during setup, I still got presented with the GMT-8 timezone, even though you can clearly see that I have defined it differently: Timezone=110
  4. The system will use 128Mb - just for running all services. You could try moving the paging file Alternatively, buy some more memory - memory is cheap these days. Forget programs that state to increase memory - all they do is use your HDD to dump data to - resulting in slowing your machine down more since the hard drive is trying to read/write data and act as a memory module at the same time - NOT GOOD! There is no easy solution to your problem - put simply - install more memory! Pete
  5. I use a WinXP CORP image (w/ SP2) and my install doesnt prompt for CD key - this could differ on OEM or RETAIL versions [Data] AutoPartition=0 MsDosInitiated="0" UnattendedInstall="Yes" AutomaticUpdates = 1 [Unattended] Repartition=NO UnattendMode=ProvideDefault OemSkipEula=Yes OemPreinstall=No TargetPath=\WINDOWS UnattendSwitch="yes" DUDisable = No DUStopOnError = Yes ForceHALDetection = Yes Hibernation = No [GuiUnattended] AdminPassword=* EncryptedAdminPassword=NO OEMSkipRegional=1 TimeZone=255 OemSkipWelcome=1 [UserData] ProductID=XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX FullName="Registered User" OrgName="Registered Org" ComputerName=WINXPPRO ProductID removed for obvious reasons. Pete Use the 'DefaultHide' option for UnattendMode= if you want certain settings to be applied during setup - any options not specified in the WINNT.SIF file will be prompted by the user during install.
  6. Using unattended installation from CD using WINNT.SIF in the \i386 directory. As mentioned here Changes in Windows XP SP2 Unattended I have figured out why the entry doesnt workin the [iEPopupBlocker] section. Even the current ref.chm (Help File)that comes with the Windows XP SP2 Deployment Tools has an error. You need to specify (HTTP) or (HTTPS) before hostname. Add these [NEW SP2] entries (in the supplied format) in your WINNT.SIF file to successfully customise your XP install. [iEHardening] LocalIntranetSites = http://localhost TrustedSites = http://msfn.org;http://microsoft.com;http://google.com [iEPopupBlocker] AllowedSites = http://msfn.org;http://www.microsoft.com; BlockPopups = Yes FilterLevel = Medium ShowInformationBar = Yes [systemRestore] CheckpointCalendarFrequency = 2 CheckpointSessionFrequency = 10 MaximumDataStorePercentOfDisk = 25 RestorePointLife = 10 [branding] BrandIEUsingUnattended = Yes [FavoritesEx] Title1 = Smartwayz.url URL1 = http://www.smartwayz.com/ Title2 = MSFN.url URL2 = http://msfn.org -end script Hope this helps! Pete
