Astalavista Posted August 11, 2004 Posted August 11, 2004 hi dudeyou must be new to slipstreaming ...go herecomplete instructions on how to slipstream your xp cd w/ sp2cheers
jdoe Posted August 11, 2004 Posted August 11, 2004 Well it's not really related to slipstreaming. If you got the XPSP2.EXE and execute it you should see the files extraction process and a wizard to guide you (only the wizard if you execute directly update.exe).Maybe your service pack got corrupted while downloading. That's what I can see. If you don't have MB limits with your ISP then try downloading again, if you have MB limits wait for other post.
rza93 Posted August 11, 2004 Author Posted August 11, 2004 yea, not really about slipstreaming, more like installing SP2.i downloaded WindowsXP-KB835935-SP2-ENU.exe from http://download.microsoft.com/download/1/6...935-SP2-ENU.exeso i guess this isnt the SP2 i need to update my XP sp1 to SP2.
IGNANT Posted August 11, 2004 Posted August 11, 2004 yea, not really about slipstreaming, more like installing SP2.i downloaded WindowsXP-KB835935-SP2-ENU.exe from http://download.microsoft.com/download/1/6...935-SP2-ENU.exeso i guess this isnt the SP2 i need to update my XP sp1 to SP2.You just have to double click on the "WindowsXP-KB835935-SP2-ENU.exe" file and it should install SP2. When you used the UPDATE.EXE that means you extracted the SP2 files went in the I386\UPDATE\ folder and ran the UPDATE.EXE from there. You only use that file when you try to slipstream.
prathapml Posted August 11, 2004 Posted August 11, 2004 Could be either of the 3:1. The download is corrupt (but then you should a dialog box saying "not a win32 program").2. Something happened due to which your windows isn't able to execute EXEs anymore.3. It is still loading itself in RAM (are you having too many apps running at once, how much RAM do you have?).
