  1. I guess I was wrong. Even though I was able to get through the 1st part of installation, when it 1st did a reboot it gave the missing or corrupt ntfs.sys file. Maybe you just cant use a cd with sp1 and rollup updates integrated already. I cant even find the original CD now
  2. How come you dont add that reg file in that zip file???? You know for the termsrv.dll Then again people might get confused that they need to run it after installation and not copy it in the I386 folder. You do need to run it after you install XP from a SP2 slipstreamed CD with the hacked files right?? or am I getting it wrong again.
  3. Ooops I overlooked that part. Thanks again.
  4. yep. the one and only @ignant: the files are for the CD. use this if you want to use it "normally" expand filename.dl_ filename.dll Then use replacer to replace the file. (www3.telus.net/_replacer) P.S. I apologize for the confusion Thanks man.........that worked. Windows was not happy when it was uncompressed heheheheh Atleast I know the CDs I made are OK even though it was missing the termsrv.dl_ I wish I would have found that yesterday. I finally got all 4 hacked files, missing that Matrix file for I guess its used during installation. You have that anywhere??? I'll redo my ISO image with those 2 files included. Thanks again
  5. I tried Zaheer's file pack and I got errors after I rebooted which prevented anything from loading. What I did was upgrade to SP2 using this file "WindowsXP-KB835935-SP2-ENU.exe" After it was done, rebooted and went back to the desktop, i rebooted back into safemode and renamed the orginal files with .BAK extension. I then copied the 3 extracted files sfc_os.dl_ tcpip.sy_ uxtheme.dl_ and renamed them with the .dll and .sys extensions. Placed them in the appropriate folders and when I rebooted I got errors in regards to these 3 files. Couldnt really do anything so I rebooted again in safe mode with the command prompt so I can use the original files again.
  6. Sorry Bud but you may have to buy a seperate video card in order to play Doom 3 smoothly. Based on what you said, you have to use Intel video drivers and their onboard video cards are not really made for gaming. I have a bunch of those at work and even the Geforce 4 MX 400 series wont play DOOM 3 smoothly and I hav it on a P4 3.2 with 1GB ram. DOOM 3 requires a card with 128MB ram or higher.
  7. You want to fit all of those programs with XP SP2 in a 700MB CD????
  8. OK so with nLite I was able to burn and get to the point where I can install XP. First time I burned without the hacked files but the 2nd with the hacked files and I was still able to get to the XP installation part. COOL DEAL!!! Now when I have the time, I will install XP from scratch using this CD. Crossing my fingas!! Thanks johnmallan that nlite was my last resort. I used the latest release.......
  9. I guess it would be manually but this is the command; D:\XPSP2\WindowsXP-KB835935-SP2-ENU.EXE -S:D:\XPSP1\ Didnt have any problems but I will try nLite. Thanks
  10. You just have to double click on the "WindowsXP-KB835935-SP2-ENU.exe" file and it should install SP2. When you used the UPDATE.EXE that means you extracted the SP2 files went in the I386\UPDATE\ folder and ran the UPDATE.EXE from there. You only use that file when you try to slipstream.
  11. See if this works for you. Right click on desktop and select new shortcut type: shutdown -s -t 01 click next and finish. change the icon if you want to. If that doesnt shut it down, I dont know what will other than pulling the plug.
  12. I got the same result. What I did different this time is load XP using my Corp. Edition XP SP1 with rollup update on a brand new hard drive. Once it was up and running with all the other patches, I loaded NERO. Went through the same steps as I had posted above and I'm back to square 1. When I boot off the CD I create it stops during the installation process with NTFS.SYS corrupted.
  13. I'm getting this message when I boot off an XP SP2 slipstreamed CD I created. A little background. I used an XP PRO Corporate Edition cd SP1 with rollup update already. Copied the CD to a C:\XP1 folder and deleted the SVCPACK.INF and SVCPACK files. Doing so enabled me to slipstream SP2. Created a bootable CD using the XPBOOT.BIN file using NERO 63117. I've burned 2 CDs already with the same result. The 2nd time I extracted the SP2 files to a folder and just copied the NTFS.SYS file. Can anyone tell me what I did wrong??? Thanks I also changed the files for UXTHEME.DL_, TCPIP.SY_ and SFC_OS.DL_ with the hacked versions (ModFiles_XPSP2.RAR). those files are in lowercase by the way.
