hi all, i need to be able to set a user in windows 2000 to restricted user, but have norton still update through live update. is this possible?

they're running windows 2000 sp4

and norton 2003

It is impossible, because Administrator can use Norton Live Update only.

actually that's not true. power users can run liveupdate as well.

i don't need all the updates with live update, just the definitions.

true some of those updates require the admin to install them but not the definitions

You can go to Control Panel to set it.

ok? can you be more specific, cause even the liveupdate control in there doesn't have that kind of settings option. so i'm not sure what you're referring to?

Sorry, my English is not good.. but i can help you if you want.

Then go to the user setting to create new user. if not, then go to group policy
