gai-jin Posted August 9, 2004 Posted August 9, 2004 On unattended.msfn.org/xp/wfp.htm I think its saying I can use either the modified sfc file or just add the registry key as directed. Am I reading this right, or are both required?
gai-jin Posted August 9, 2004 Author Posted August 9, 2004 Okay, then what am I missing. It says clearly on that page that the sfc file method is NOT recommended, as if there is another method. Then it presents the reg key thing, so I thought that was the other method. What is the recommended method?
Aaron Posted August 9, 2004 Posted August 9, 2004 There is no other method. Disabling WFP on a whole isn't recommended at all for non-experienced/novice users because you'll be more prone to virus infections to important windows system files.
nolookingca Posted August 9, 2004 Posted August 9, 2004 except maybe if you somehow created a sort of system where it disables WFP at t-12 or sometime earlier, do whatever you want, and re-enable WFP at GuiRunOnce.
