power options problem

I was configuring the UPS option in the power options menu and instead of selecting com 2 selected com3 upon which the comp hibernated automatically. now everytime i start the comp it hibernates and because of this i cannot change the options too.

i am not sure if i got the polarity wrong but the problem is persisting even after i reversed the polarity by reversing the circuit.

how can i fix it? pls help

I think I saw an update for remedying a problem with XP and UPS's.Not sure.

I'm not sure about this, but try to startup in safe modus then correct the com port at the UPS configuration.
