Raiden Posted August 5, 2004 Posted August 5, 2004 When I install windows XP unattended, I include the drivers for my wireless card( a microsoft MN-730 54g) My network has WEP enabled and I have to open up the wireless connection in the systemtray and manually type in my WEP key after windows is installed. Is there a way to have windows know my WEP key during setup without asking me for it, such as a registry tweak to put in my [GuiRunOnce] batch file.
big_gie Posted August 5, 2004 Posted August 5, 2004 No, there is no tweaks. The only way is to modify some .inf file, I think from the driver. But I don't recommend it because when you install XP you are vulnerable: no patch, no hotfixes, no firewall, and no antivirus. You MUST be disconnected from the network when you reinstall!!! I've already catched a virus like this. I had to reformat... Having your wireless card up from the begining isnt a good idea.
